November, 2006, the Surry Baptist Association entered into a partnership
with Associates in Christian Counseling (ACC) in
Winston-Salem
,
NC
. Mr. John Shuler (
MDiv
,
MA
, LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor, sees clients each week at the
Surry
Christian
Counseling
Center
located at the
Surry
Baptist
Association
Resource
Center
at
364 Welch Road
,
Mount Airy
,
NC
. Eligibility for service is
based on the spiritual and emotional needs of the client, and not on
financial ability to pay. The
churches of the Surry Baptist Association provide a Client Assistance
Fund which supplements fees charged for Christian counseling services.
No one is turned away for the inability to pay.
The
Surry
Christian
Counseling
Center
also accepts and files insurance.
Anyone calling to set up an appointment will speak with an intake worker at
ACC by calling (336) 789-7405 who will make the appointment for the
Mount
Airy
Center
and predetermine financial assistance, if needed.
